Most people have access to the internet. Most people can google and find free courses

Most need to service mortgages etc and need to have a job. Most people have the need to stay employed

Most people are aware of the need to change and be flexible

Whatever it takes to bail out corporations - that’s what voters voted for with a landslide!

They chose to ignore Labor’s corporate agenda, the flood of corporate lobbyists inside parliament - inside ministers diaries and offices

This is the totally inevitable outcome of sticking with a duopoly

Australians are noticing

Look, this woman can’t even find an available public restroom in Amerika

And now she’s ranting about something that doesn’t exist after a meeting with tRump

It’s like they have to prove their loyalty post meeting by saying the most illogical nonsense!!

The death throes of a democracy that has lost its vision and is panicking

Both voters and the politicians they choose in total freefall

Don’t be smug though

It’s happening in Australia and France and New Zealand too
gekko.bsky.social
Worse in fact

It was Albanese that in the last parliament cut off electoral funding for independents and minor parties with help from the LNP IPA - the duopoly

That’s NOT democracy

But it shows again the appalling judgement of voters to give Labor a landslide victory

They have killed democracy
gekko.bsky.social
Exactly!

And - of course - guess who else wants to dump toxic waste in third world countries or countries that are stupid enough to accept it?

Australia doing what Australia does best

We export fossil fuels and pin the blame for rising emissions on others, we don't do anything about GENOCIDE - we applaud a war criminal and a felon and now, we want to export a problem - plastic because who can be fucked dealing with it here eh!

GENOCIDE - a level even above war crimes - will demand justice

Not just by the perpetuators, but by all who aided and colluded

Including countries that have not imposed sanctions on Israel and stopped all military assistance

And how damming that Australian Labor is trying to bury it's complicity

Release the names of the #Robodebt6 @albomp.bsky.social and start legal proceedings. Justice needs to be served. No more corruption. Stop protecting criminals and #ProtectWhistleblowers #Auspol

I agree but if we held our breath waiting for community attitudes to change and rise all boats at once then we’d be out of breath!

I found in my working life that it was better to own your own career and invest in it and not be left wondering how tech might over-take oneself

Civics classes would be good too!

Ah well, that’s Germany!

This is Australia .. and when have governments truly invested in its people here, especially youth?
gekko.bsky.social
Don’t wait for govts or corporations to re-educate oneself!

That’s never happened

There are plenty of free courses online to do that people can take advantage of .. it’s up to the individual

People should invest in themselves and own their own careers!

So easy to gaslight people and it’s a common tactic for governments globally who have no intention of listening to voters

Democracies around the world are on the cusp of collapsing because neither voters or the politicians they choose have any understanding of a vision or reason to exist

We still have to navigate the real world.

Paid employment means planning individual careers that manage AI, either as a threat or as a tool AND understand our unique human qualities/contribution

That requires new skillsets, ways of working and new roles - adaptability and flexibility
gekko.bsky.social
AI could relieve workers of boring, repetitive tasks and release them for more interesting roles

But that requires workers learning new AI skills so my point is, if you want to survive, add to your skillset AND bring your best, unique, human self to work because AI is not replacing human qualities

Here's a taste of Lachlan Murdoch ..

The extreme right like to twist logic - and truth

News Corp washes its hands of up-ending our society and threatening our democracy and blames "social media". tRump similarly, ignoring the role of the extreme right

The chicken and the egg argument

Singularity and tech billionaire's "utopia" is taking longer and longer

Then with grifters like Musk do you wonder?

What's more dangerous are those who don't see the extreme danger in feeding these billionaires more - SpaceX contracts, rising Tesla sales and broken promises

Let's not lionise them
