I don't understand the logic. How can you have outperformance without capturing the upside of momentum stocks! Like NVDIA. Equal Weight should be viewed as a tactical rotation strategy (as now). The data I see tell a different story over the long term??

Check your data again. The cap weighted version always outperformed historicaly the equal weight. It's simply one of the times the outperforming is extreme.
