These last few months have been difficult and dark, and they do not seem to be getting better for the country. It is why we must remember to take care of each other, to laugh again, and to love unapologetically. If you cannot find the light, then be that light. Together. Take care, everyone.

Lovely colors and expressions for these folks. I need to watch that at some point to find out what they are up to. :)

I am afraid so. 2010 here seeing Law of Talos as well. ha. I do not know most of the newer ones, but it is awesome seeing people keeping that spirit going and the last few days I have found a lot of art to check out.

Why not make this a week of #OCT posts? There is a lot to share! What stories inspired your #OC or their world? Did a particular book, or show, or video game help get their concept started? Sometimes it is a singular artist or piece of media that makes us say, "I want to do THAT, but my own way!"

Thank you, everyone, for sharing all those wonderful experiences with OCTs! I am blown away by the number of responses here and it took me awhile to read them all. From one generation of artists to another, it is heartening to see the community going strong, adapting and continuing to tell stories.

Hi #OCT folks! What was the OCT that got you into the community? Do you have a favorite or one that had a particular influence on you? It could be one you auditioned for, competed in, or just followed to see all the cool stuff. Let us start off the week with some good memories. :)

Artists have a proud tradition of making art out of spite for the people in power, even when commissioned to paint entire cathedrals by said people in power.

Generally speaking I like random folks that then become named/familiar characters by sticking around, getting nicknames, doing cool stuff, etc. I loved that my ranger in XCOM2 became "Terminator" when she got an insta kill sword reaction on a mini boss as it spawned. You remember those characters.

Lots of videos out dissecting what is going on with the back end. The consensus (now) seems to be it's counting about half as many desktop views as the video actually gets, but still showing ads to those uncounted viewers. Then it directs viewers to unmonetized videos/channels first at a breakpoint.

Eh, there's no way that could end badly in a high stress moment. ha

I wish you strength in this endeavor. Whatever you do, not think about how things from one game would work in the other one and how much you want to try that out. Banish the thought.

Take a deep breath (5 seconds in) and then go a little further, then slowly let it out (about 10 seconds out). It is similar to breathing patterns in your sleep. Good luck.

It is a malformed creature that consumes all the water and power to only ever look backward through a funhouse mirror, and yet people trust it to see the future. Every political regulatory hearing on the topic is like that scene where the monkeys find the monolith in 2001, except it's just a rock.

New resources are available online for players and GMs looking to get into Orobos Championship Tournament. Most notably, this document contains 10 sample creatures ready to do battle on your game table today.

Cardvid. I know those two colorful troublemakers. :)

I also kept all of my old work from around high school onward. I have A LOT more character ideas like the first one with hotdog limbs and odd proportions. Good memories. You do get better with practice! The second League sketch is a few years later when friends got really into that game.
Behold the early character ideas from high school. They were superheroes with cybernetic implants and the whole team had names based on various insects, but I never drew the rest of the team. 2010 I think. Sketches of various League of Legends characters. Perspective is a little off causing distorted shapes and figures. Back in college friends and I would get together and game a lot. This is 2011-12. Still working on perspective. ha

That is remarkably unhelpful of them. At this point maybe we should just turn the whole mailing system off and back on again to see if that works. ha

Night, this is how we get a story of a birthday party gone horribly wrong when someone eats a steak with a melted candle.
generalredland.bsky.social
Sorry to hear that. Was any reason given? This might be something that affects a lot of creative folks.

I will still hold onto the good memories that hopefully inspire something new to come out of it, like being the first in our small group to find the big door under the Dreaming City, and then coming back the next day to find it open with this massive uncharted dungeon inside. More of that is great.

Sounds like you will have to gather them all at night for some reason. We had a friend in college get really into that series. The actual series, not this legally distinct AU.

The game had its moments of excellent mystery and suspense conveyed through the story, writing and environmental exploration. It had this sense of scale and wonder. You could wander around in that world for hours. Then you did the same strike 54 times and broke useless blue loot forever.

I hope that works out. I can only provide info from our experience. Amazon pumps up prices and then takes their cut. We had to sell our first book at $35 just to be profitable print on demand, plus the customer paid tax and shipping. We got $1.79 per sale. Pretty much anything else pays better. :)
generalredland.bsky.social
Having experience with Amazon, it is not great and they take a really big chunk of sales compared to competitors. It is probably cheaper for you and the customer to just make them printable. Maybe someone else has a better idea. Good luck!
