Agree 1,000%. He would be a perfect Bond and could rejuvenate the franchise.

It's outrageous that there is so much furor over Kimmel's comment/joke but virtually no anger at all that both Trump and Musk made inflammatory accusations of the left/Democrats BEFORE THE SHOOTER WAS EVEN IDENTIFIED AND CAPTURED.

I agree but I think you left a step out: Politicians use donations for marketing, advertising, publicity, and other forms of voter-persuasion. Since most people are low-information voters that choose candidates like they choose their TVs, movie stars, and snack foods, this makes the difference.

I've watched a few of these debates so far with various guest debaters and I always come away thinking that most of the participants are wanna-be actors or just attention-seekers. I think it would probably be more worthwhile sticking to debating known people who have known backgrounds.

Hi Digby. Any good reporting you would recommend that explains exactly what is the legal/administrative contract between the U.S. & El Salvador for these incarcerations? U.S. incarceration out-sourced to ES? U.S. deportation and then the people incarcerated under ES law?

I agree. I wish Bukele would have been asked 2 questions:
1. Are these people being held as convicted criminals for El Salvador or only as a contracted service to the U.S.?
2. What is the path to freedom for these people? (Are they all life sentences)?

People scared of losing their jobs is a powerful motivator but there seem to be short- and long-term impacts. Can the U.S. survive selling expensive stuff to ourselves? Because how will poor countries ever afford our stuff if they never develop economies to support that?

Some things I would like to know:
- What is the path to freedom for these people? Is there even one or are they "life sentences"?
- What is El Salvador's justification for holding these people? Have they been convicted for some crime in El Salvador or they're just being held on the U.S.' behalf?

Knew a guy at college who was like this. He wore cleats to casual football and claimed he did a loop-the-loop in a 737. Fellow students cancelled his return flight after Xmas break. That experience and a couple of others over my career indicate that these folks usually come from wealthy families.

Damn. That's going to make building that wall a lot harder.

She didn't run on trans rights BUT Republicans sure made it seem like she did. It is tough running against bullies/tyrants/liars. As much as social justice gets a bad rap, I think extending the concept might be worth a try. Most of us fall into a minority category somewhere.

Rubio these days always looks like he's a hostage or somebody recovering from a castration.

The problem is not just COBOL. When doing data analytics, you need to have an understanding of the context and the business practices. Otherwise, you can easily have "blind men and the elephant" problems, misinterpretations, and correlation vs. causation situations.
