Reminder that last year I made an iPhone app that always points at the centre of the Milky Way

It peaked at 87 in the US App Store free apps chart (Travel category) haha

There was a system that worked like this, auto grouping for simultaneous conversations on the same voice calls. In 2003!

Wrote a bit about it it here — would love to try these kind of ideas for video

Got a 3D printer and it’s DOA. I can see the misassembled part and there’s no way to fix. Support closed for Chinese holidays so a while to get it replaced too… Boooo

Only discovered when kiddo used it conversationally with me, and it turns out they apply it to art, inventions, English lessons… Gonna have a little blogger on my hands (I showed her my links collection)

Turns out that my kid’s year 1 teacher used magpie as a verb frequently, such as “I magpied that thing you made and added it to X for my own invention,” and (a) what a great way to introduce collecting creative references and (b) so good to have a positive counterweight to “copying” as an idea
