Although formally a science and mathematics educator, I am somewhat a polymath. I’ve held almost every position there is in K-12 schools. My ‘easy’ - as in subject that I taught the most - is Physics. One of my chief skills is adjusting abstract concepts to general audiences.

If the person is happy with them, I have no comment to make. I’m sure some people generalise off just themselves to try and sound expert.

Gatekeeping tattoos now?

I have 17. Still happy about them. They’re mostly science stuff.

Base 8 could have been taught to 12 year olds, especially if they have good ability. (I am also qualified in Gifted Ed). It’s mostly useful as an example of the concept of bases. It’s not especially applicable.

It’s a matter of how you look at it and define things. Likely that’s referring to the six most common sex chromosome configurations. If someone is pretending things are simple is when you need to wonder where they are at.

Exactly. It would change nothing for me anyway. I can’t justify the expense for simple curiosity.

I don’t understand why people who haven’t studied biology would think that they know a lot about it, or be certain about things that are not well known.

Most people don’t.

I don’t know how the hormone levels and my dividing cells interacted when I was in the uterus.

Most people don’t.

I have no idea about the sensitivity of my hormone receptors or how many there are, nor their distribution.

Most people don’t.

I don’t know what my chromosomal karyotype is.

Most people don’t.

I don’t know the exact information content of my genes either. Not even one of the 10 000.

Most people don’t.

Don’t think that it’s neutral either. It’s patriarchal enforcement of ‘destiny at birth’, exactly what feminists have fought against.
gennerveevy.bsky.social
They also completely ignore the complexity of ‘sex’ in our biology (it is far more than chromosomes, which is 1890’s state of the art). On top of this is gender variance.
gennerveevy.bsky.social
They are actually meaningless if you think about it. Humans are biological. They are trying to sound credible and ‘scientific’ about their views. It’s an attempt to say some people are ‘real’ and some are ‘fake’.
gennerveevy.bsky.social
The terms ‘biological man’ and ‘biological woman’ are used by anti-trans bigots to frame discussion in ways that suit the views that they want to push.

Thank you! Love you too 💗

I’m winding down now, but was a bit stressed about finding a restaurant. We rarely eat out due to being low income, but it worked out. The only one that Chris could get on the phone for a booking was a lovely choice. I had a Dijon galette. 😊❤️

Chris had his One Door appointment, which was mostly going with his support person to see where Centrelink are up to with processing his DSP application.

Easily six hours total, as two major cities and our rural town are involved. It was good to see them, and very touching that they came to see us. I was more than prepared that it may have been too much on such a day.

But another relative (Chris’ aunt on his dad’s side) was unwell and was in hospital, passing away this morning. So the plan changed from lunch to dinner. I am amazed at the amount of travel that the three of them did in just one day.

A very warm Spring day today, at 26°C. I’m not sunburnt, I just sat in a warm car undercover for an hour. We had plans in flux for a while, as we were going to meet up locally with Chris’ mum, and his dad’s cousin and wife from QLD (the state north of us).

She sounds like someone I’d like to meet. 🥰

Thank you! I hope that you do too! 🥰
Love to you.

All who seek to suppress human diversity for their own comfort deserve to be held accountable for the damage and pain that inflict on others.❤️

It exists because some people hold the belief that sexual orientation or gender can be changed. They require it, as their view is that it’s a choice. You can only be labelled a ‘sinner’ or a degenerate if you choose to be that way. Anything but accept human diversity.
