I mean over here in the UK we don’t have much experience of guns but those stormtroopers look scary. Very impressed by the people brave enough to oppose them

It’s a built up area. The advance candidate stood in both this and the horsley election. He got 1.6% of the vote here.
I don’t think anyone thought there would be a large turnout on a wet Tuesday. Even the postal votes didn’t arrive till the Friday before so goodness knows how many weren’t returned

We had to work hard over the last month to get there but we are happy bunnies. It’s an odd ward split over a number of different communities. The ultra right in Heanor are only a stones throw away

Well hidden but worth it. Past the shelves of observers books and the doors on the left. Bit of a scramble up a rocky path

I may treat us to a homity pie for all our hard work. By the way have you ever found the music room at scarthins? Out the door at the back of the cafe,up the steps and into the room with the piano. I am constantly amazed by the place

Tbf that Amber valley ward has a far right history that goes back decades.

Going straight back to it now. Had an exciting day what with the greens winning our council ward from reform.

I voted tactically in the GE and that’s the last time. Joined the greens and tasted electoral victory today. Feels good

Scarthins in cromford has a particularly good caf
January 21, 2026 at 6:54 PM
So I have to vote for the least worst option? I wonder how that will work out?
January 21, 2026 at 6:51 PM
We put a lot more effort into activities like leafleting than the reform lot and reform couldn’t get a candidate who actually lived in the ward
January 21, 2026 at 6:45 PM
Well we do have fields but it’s semi rural commuter belt really

It beggars belief that they became nurses in the first place.

Lian Pizzey will be an excellent county councillor. The people who organised the campaign at a busy time of year were fantastic
January 21, 2026 at 4:12 PM
Can I point you in the direction of our local election result in Horlsey. 44% green and 4% labour. Well worth the hard work
January 21, 2026 at 2:40 PM
We have a great team in horsley
January 21, 2026 at 2:32 PM
It’s been neck and neck between green and reform here for a while. Labour and Lib Dem’s didn’t even bother to send out flyers
January 21, 2026 at 2:17 PM
We have a great team. We delivered 4 leaflets to every house in the weeks before the election and then targeted ones to postal voters and also people who said they might show vote green. We also had a candidate who was local unlike reform
January 21, 2026 at 2:14 PM
I wonder how they’ll how they will try to explain the Horsley county council election. The result is fantastic for the greens but where on earth is labour?
January 21, 2026 at 2:03 PM
That was a lot of leaflets delivered by a really dedicated team. Over the moon tbh

We have a new county councillor in Derbyshire. The greens got 44% of the vote and Labour got 4%!
