Biker and techie. Very old.
Lives in Wales, in a crumbling pile of rocks in the vague shape of a house.
And it would appear that he is right, with the American people just accepting the destruction of their country, and the rest of the world happy to look the other way.

This is going to look fucking epic on humanity's gravestone.

And with every day that passes, Trump is being proved right :-(

The rest of the world is looking on in open-mouthed astonishment and wondering what it is that you are all waiting for?
What will it take?

Ever since the beginning of the rise of Trump and various equivalents over here in the UK, I've been pointing to people that it is very possible to be both stupid and cunning, which is what Trump is. Many people mistake this for intelligence, for some reason.

I find it astonishing that I and speaking approvingly of Majorie Taylor Greene here, but these are strange times we're living in. She appears to have found a perfectly viable way out of the box.

From which statement we can deduce that this is not a sane world.

There should be a movement to field independent candidates in every contest in the coming mid-terms, and encourage everyone to vote for them.

Yeah, yeah, I know...

No, not really. Organised religion was invented to control the populace and enrichen those at the top.

This is it working exactly as designed.

A big chunk of his supporters are cheering him on, still.
America is broken, and it's going to end the world.

Stop burning hydrocarbons. It's not complicated.

Nature has been knocking louder and louder for forty years. Humanity was too stupid to listen.

Excellent points.

Yup, same here. I never saw the attraction of iTunes or similar management software, nor of a device that doesn't expose a standard file system.

There was quite a long period during which every single PC that came to me to be sorted out started with "I just installed iTunes, and now..."

Yeah, I understand the allure of the Apple ecosystem. Doesn't mean that I like it, though.

I feel an obligation to point out that Apple were not first to market with an MP3 player.
Hell, I had an MP3 player that fitted in a DIN slot in my car dashboard before the iPod was launched.

I just spent a while wondering what side dish you were having with breakfast, before I noticed the name on the bowl. Not enough coffee yet, obviously.

"Simplistic answers to complex questions" is an excellent summary of all of the current state of politics, both in the UK and most of the rest of the world, too.

Thank you! We're gradually turning it into a small but quite dense woodland, after ten years it's starting to get really well established.

Do not fall into the comforting trap of thinking that this is just about Trump. Look to those behind him, as well.
When America finally wakes up, Madame Guillotine has a lot of work to do.
December 27, 2025 at 6:56 AM
Indeed, but a whole heap of that is justified in the name of a god (or gods) that simply does not exist. Evil people use God to manipulate and control others.
Unlike you, I don't think we can do better as a species. We're just a bunch of badly shaved apes, at core.

In many ways, God is responsible for the whole sorry mess. Which makes my anti-theist stance extremely defensible.
