Yes - the problem was the throttle wouldn’t go down far enough to stay in front of George, so he had to lift suddenly to try to reset it. Unfortunately this essentially brake tested George. Other excuses are available.

It has to be more achievable in the cost cap era. Caterham and Virgin/Manor produced credible cars although the proposed 40m budget cap was never implemented - which made life way harder than anticipated.
