Ultima, the sequencing company, always reminds me of Ultima, the series of CRPGs. And Lord British featured prominently in those games: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord_Br.... (Side note: Lord British is also the pseudonym of Richard Garriot and it turns out, @forbiddenunix.com)

Pretty sure now we're all legally obligated to work this one into our next talk

The thing was, the algorithm is the algorithm and it was both knowable and deterministic. It wasn’t “the computers”, it was the algorithm. But they either were or pretended to be ifgmorant

That Hegseth episode of South Park the other night couldn't have come at a better time

It's like that one era of college football when the announcer trope was to blame "the computers" when they disagreed with national championship rankings

Naw. It was noticeable but not ridiculous. Once I realized what was happening I started using normal turkey stock to help tame it as well. I have some grits from marsh he. Labeled “unicorn grits” if you google that it was about that color

Whatever is going on, all along I’ve been chalking up the game in a few weeks as a loss for the Pats so hopefully this version of the ravens shows up. That said, divisional games and Thursday games are always weird and this is both

Sadly … (it was a dull purple. Not cartoonish or anything)

Didn't it come out that Lamar is still and/or re-hurt? That may explain it. If there was ever a stronger case for MVP, this season has been it for him.
November 28, 2025 at 3:12 AM
My #1 hope is that as many of Lamar, Allen, and Mahomes are out of the playoffs as possible cuz they're f'ing scary. Towards that goal, so far today has gone well NFL-wise.

I never thought to do this. I like it.

This was a major helpful tip I took away from all of Daniel Gritzer's writing on @serious-eats.bsky.social - living on the edge of not yet burnt.

I always assumed that education & racial resentment were highly correlated. So removing the variable out voting decision, this indicates at a higher level no such strong correlation exists?

Yeah i'm def gonna give this a try. Usually I just make the old, leftover bottle the one I designate for the end of the next wine night where I won't notice it so much 😂 This seems like a better plan. Also picturing super mid open bar wine as a useful case for this
