Likewise, and probably deserves deeper thought, but oven been thinking about how we encourage younger developers and how it has more to do with shaping their worldviews than syntax of any language.

Love this - keep it weird!

Rhea Seehorn plus Vince Gilligan returning to his weird ass sci-fi roots is a winning combination for me. And the first episode already has me hooked!

When I eventually turn 41, I’m definitely going to make the joke about turning 29 again

My favorite quote from Chris in this episode:

“I believe in the power of programmers. I believe in the human potential of people that want to create things. And that’s fundamentally why I love software is that you can create anything that you can imagine.”

But now the training doesn’t stop. Still have my eyes on a full marathon 2 years from now when I’m 40. Next up is a speed training block, maybe some one off 5ks, and then targeting a 10 miler in the spring! Let’s go!!!

And yeah, I was stunned to see the final time. It’s not my fastest 10k ever, but easily the fastest I’ve done in the last decade! Super proud of myself for the training and effort to get there.

5k in to the race today, I had finished the bridge and my heart rate was already 175+, I knew it would be a struggle to the finish. But surprisingly, I held my pace and picked people off down the home stretch.

About a month ago, after a great and consistent training block, I thought I might be able to actually push a 9:00/mi pace for 10k. I knew the first 5k out and back over a he bridge would be a difficult hill to climb, but I had an outside chance of 55min finish.

When I started running again in June, I could barely run a full mile and my pace was closer to 13:00 /mi. Yet I still gave myself a goal of building up enough distance and speed to finish this race in under an hour. Seemed like a stretch at the time.
