No he has the right idea. These single issue advocacy groups lost us a win. Trans rights and LGBTQ issues are important but not important enough to the voters. Dems have to get the message back towards center to win and thats what newsom is doing. Change can be effective after we control government.

That is not to say that these issues are not important, but they will and MUST take a back seat for now. Single issue advocacy blocks got us into the position we are in and it has to change if we want to control all houses of government. These issues can be addressed after victory.

The #GavinNewsom veto is about the new trend of the Democratic party. Establishment dems will step away from trans rights and other critical points of contention in an effort to bolster support for the upcoming gubernatorial and 2028 elections. Culture war issues lost us the vote last time.

Why would a factory take ten years to build? It takes like a year and a half to build a building of size and then maybe 2 MAX to outfit it with equipment.

You might need experience, good backing and a damn good credit report but if the next administration did as i propose, and provides a program to incentivize the revival of furniture manufacturing in America, and then after a period, for reestablishment of our base, slapped tariffs on imports, 👍🏻

So you, an artist and manufacturer, believe there is not, say 100-200k people of your same disposition in America today? I find that hard to believe. I also find it hard to believe that you could not assemble capital, labor, a warehouse, equipment, and logistics contracts within a 2 year span.

Large scale manufacturing is given. And here is where the tariffs come in to play. Slapping a tariff on these goods prevents companies from offshoring- as long as we then bolster and maybe even subsidize home grown manufacturing for a period of time to allow the industry to recover and meet demand.
