I'm more of the opinion that it's all woke and woke is good.

On reddit a user pointed out that Jeffries hasn't had much movement rightward on immigration in rhetoric/votes.

Could you substantiate your criticism of Jeffries in particular (agree with you on the rest)? I don't really think disliking the El Savlador trip establishes his position alone.

Surprise surprise, the conservative statements were deemed more objectionable.
December 13, 2025 at 10:03 PM
I remember FIRE putting out related polling on what students objected to. The (would-be) liberal objectionable statements were like longer and nuanced, and the conservative objectionable statements were short/punchy/categorical like that list.

Tron movie with a good score, good visuals, and a meh everything else sounds like every Tron movie I've ever seen!

Sounds great!

Mine would be Grave of the Fireflies.

I only realized it a few years back when the Playstation Classic's controller was missing the analogue sticks.

I played it as a kid, but we bought our PS1 years later and only got dualshocks for it. Because I was a kid I never noticed the stick was just mapped to dpad directions in most games.

The GBC didn't have a backlight. The Japanese only GameBoy Light did, though.

I only found out about Retro Blast a few weeks ago so it won't be in my top 10, but that Funcoland episode was amazing.

Yeah. Generally the Indiana GOP seems to like to avoid Gerrymandering the national maps to stay out of the hot seat. But the state legislative maps are open season.

My dad got one for xmas one year, and is a huge fan!

Yeah, at best they mean "don't have contentious discussions about things we vote on" and at worst it's as you say - politics is things they don't like.

A video game podcast discord of mine did that once, and I had this exact same question for the staff as this reddit user (the staff pretty much ignored it):

It's always a bit of a tell for me that a moderation team is inept if they think there's an easy bright line between what is political and not.

Yes "vote for candidate x" is political and cat photos are not. But things like "Tariffs are raising the price of my game consoles" are not so obvious.

Wonderful resource, I've shared it a bunch.

I noticed a small factual error for the mayoral race of my home city, Syracuse. Outgoing Mayor Ben Walsh is an Independent not a Democrat (however he mostly governed like one and endorsed Dems - surprising since his dad+grandpa were both GOP congressmen!)

I listened to it the other day and it was pretty amazing. Best podcast episode of the year from any podcast I listen to.

We bring this up all the time on /r/fivethirtyeight, at least. It's an important example to push against just becoming "moderate" on culture war issues.

(I also found out about Anberlin around then through another very-2000s-games way: my favorite wii forum had a "Great Lyrics" post, and somebody recommended Alexithymia. Shoutout to boards.thewiire dot com)

Just found out about you from a repost of this, what a great episode!

And by coincidence I'm a huuuge Anberlin fan myself! I played Amped 1, but I didn't realize 3 had Paperthin Hymn in it. Kind of cool a song other than Feel Good Drag got highlighted.
