Pete, please mention the wild animals who can't avoid the noise of fireworks. Really it's terrifying for the foxes and birds. There's no way to calm them down short of providing plenty of shelter in gardens, and to put out treats for the foxes and birds in the garden so they know it's a safe haven.

Commiserations to the British people who elected him. I can only assume there was a low turnout, as there was here in Ireland in the recent election; the people who have most to complain about tend to get so disillusioned that the don't vote (which is no excuse of course).
