By night, troops surround the town, and the next morning, after heavy artillery fire, the peasants surrender, securing victory for the Prince.

The Palatine army then sets up observation points and positions cannons closer to the town, while infantry and cavalry encircle it. A small group of peasants emerges from the town. After being repelled, 7,000 of them charge and are also defeated. Many are killed as they attempt to flee.

Elector Ludwig’s troops deploy near Pfeddersheim, opening fire on the town’s defenses, though the exchange with the rebels is indecisive.

Peasants threaten the Töß convent outside Winterthur. The clever diplomacy of the city council and the Töß nuns manages to steer the angry crowd into getting drunk instead. The peasants return home the next morning.

Martin Luther defends himself against the accusation many in Magdeburg are making that Luther is a flatterer of the princes. Luther has published a pamphlet entitled 'Against the Murderous, Thieving Hordes of Peasants'.

Peasants attack Adersleben Convent near Wegeleben, where they allegedly beat & torture the nuns until they hand over the keys and church property. Peasants take the monstrance, chalices, church furnishings, and supplies, and drive away livestock.

The Count Palatine breaks into Bruchrain with 1,800 cavalry and 4,500 foot soldiers. He attacks Malsch, the main base of the uprising, and burns it down. All the villages are plundered and their herds taken.

Hans Müller and his 12,000 peasants take possession of Freiburg, forcing the city to capitulate and enter into a so-called “Christian Union to establish common public peace and eradicate the unfair grievances of the common poor man".

Officials (Amtleute) send a request to the Erfurt council asking them to speak with the Dominican friars. They say rumours are spreading that the council plans to let the peasants in to storm the monasteries. They urge the council to prevent this and to protect the religious from violence.

The abbess and convent of Marienhausen (Aulhausen) are forced to issue a declaration stating that from now on, no new members will be accepted, and the convent is to die out, with its property in the Rheingau passing to the general community.
