having a plot in my town's community garden for the past 4 years really opened my eyes to food access and for someone to flippantly suggest "just start gardening" clearly doesn't know shit about food inequality or gardening

i'm not saying it can't be done; anything is possible etc etc.

but if it's unrealistic for me, someone with the monetary means and spare time to have a garden, how the fuck is someone without one or both of those things supposed to do it?

my apartment is ~1000 sq ft and there's v limited space for the established plants i have in my garden now—and you expect folks to magically bootstrap the produce section in their homes? gtfoh
