Both smoking and drinking are entirely different compared to an "addiction" to social media. Why don't they ban sugary drinks, foods etc? Since their brains are not developed enough they cannot choose possibly what food is best and one that will not make them fat.

They weren't getting parental attention before social media came around. The problems are always exaggerated, the fact that government can do something like this is problematic as it is.
