Inspired by my friend Sebastian’s little iPad code snippet, I’ve been playing with the simplest tiling form: a square. All you change is the orientation. Also, the floor of my apartment in Milan. #geometry #tiling (link to my app coming soon)

rained hard for 90 seconds this morning and that made me curious about how narrow these high energy rain bands can be...

Only a couple of days into this year’s trip to Colombia- what an amazing place!

Made a drogue sail from this piece of trash that I collected earlier in the day. During the first night on anchor, the wind came up from the east, very strong, and quickly created serious wave action. The boat refused to point into the wind until I lifted the keel and attached this. #WA360 practice!

From various diagrams, it looks like they should be just in front of your knees for a rowing skiff (without a sliding seat). I think I'll try that as a starting point on the West Wight Potter 19. #WA360

Search for "oarlock placement" and get: "for a thwart 6'' below sheer, the rowlock shaft centre should be 7 1/2'' aft of the aft edge of the thwart. These dimensions always suited me well, I'm about 6' tall."

Not my favorite kind of sailing: spent the day diagnosing the motor and ended up just pulling the boat out of the water and dropping the mast. I’m learning a lot about this motor though… #westwightpotter #wa360

Going sailing today to practice sleeping on the anchor (the way I will likely spend most nights during the #WA360) - but first @jooolie.bsky.social and I had to break into the back of the truck because a little plastic bushing is the only thing holding the snugtop latch actuator in place…
