I'm in Marketing, and it's baffling to watch for the last few decades how Republicans go out of their way to try to indoctrinate people in their views with things like PragerU and their media channels (Fox, etc.), and Democrats get mad if you don't inherently believe the things they believe.

You can be a good politician and a bad candidate. See also: Mitt Romney, Michael Dukakis, Al Gore, etc.

That lapel is some clever design work, sir!

Spoiler alert?!?
October 21, 2025 at 11:27 PM
that doesn't seem possible

100% They should have never attempted something like that. But it's a complicated story. Texas Monthly had a really good in-depth story at the time.

It's as safe as a waterpark is going to be, but there are always accidents. You can only minimize it so much. But probably as safe as Disney, etc.

I think Kansas City park was way too cavalier overall based on all the reporting. I worked there for 6 years when NB was the only location. Just with your story centered on NB, it felt like a cheap shot. (PS longtime fan since the Wonkette days. ;) )

Even so, (while Jeff Henry was a trainwreck personally), the parks did extensive training and auditing of personnel and had a high safety rating compared to the industry for decades. Disneyland probably has a much higher injury/fatality rate than the chain.

Such bullshit. Just because Schlitterbahn (in Kansas!) had one sensationalistic death that doesn't make it the world's most dangerous waterpark. They took overall safety VERY seriously and won safety awards for years. (Can't vouch for new owners)

And Democrats won't say a single thing about it.

Golly, this is gorgeous! Love your work so much.

95% of Democrats in office just desperately wish it were 30 years ago, and are doing everything they can to hide until they think Trump is over. But Trump will never be over without them actually taking a stand and doing their fucking jobs.

This movie has some of the worst marketing I've ever seen. That poster is a prime example.

I read the Larson book when it was first published, but I would imagine it's far more relevant today than it was during the Obama years.

that is one giant tauntaun! 😆

At some point, I keep expecting Democrats to realize that the GOP feeds the media talking points constantly, and the left just expects all the news to be self-evident. There's a reason Coke and Doritos sell so much, and it's not because people just innately think they're the best food.

I have mixed feelings, because it's the right wing who are constantly caught doing shady shit.

I replaced all mine when Covid started. I only had Lone Ranger and Tonto but slowly got the whole set. (Plus the compatible
Butch & Sundance line!)

If it walks like Goebbels and talks like Goebbels....

It's actually not bad for what it is...but NOT that poster.
