If I recall, World still did this, though it was more like getting knocked off a cliff, and then having to scale the mountain or tree or whatever to get back up.

I think, if done properly, it may work in Animal Crossing for letter writing. That's... about it though.

To be fair, the vast majority of school shooters tend to die during the event, whether either by being shot by police, or by turning the gun on themselves. They can't be sentenced to death, as they are already dead.

I know there are a handful who have been arrested, but not many.

Number must be in the title, and the number must refer to its place in the series, either release or chronological. So, Super Mario 64 doesn't count, as the 64 doesn't mean it's the 64th Mario game.

Looking for the straightforward answer, with no technicalities about it. Game series where you can, for example, go "Oh, this is DOOM, and this is DOOM 2, and this is DOOM 3" and so on.
