The crannog
A miniature of a crannog. It’s a circular hut made of wattle and daub, with aged wooden beams and a conical thatched roof, built upon a platform above the water. Its door is facing us and a causeway leads off to the bottom right. A thin outcrop of flowering vegetation has grown upon the roof, and the base of the hut is surrounded by dried leaves. A wooden texture has been painted on the MDF platform. Two people stand upon the platform facing us, a tattooed herbalist and a large man in leather armour, a kettle hat and carrying a sword and shield. A coracle is moored in the background, in front of a misty background.

There are brick buildings on either side (though there are trees next to the canal itself) and a church is visible in the distance. On the right, there is a pulley - perhaps a small crane? - jutting out below the bridge.

Just caught part of a discussion of sandwich abbreviations on the radio, and missed what a CLAM sandwich was. Internet to the rescue - here’s what moronic AI reckons:

Microsoft have an inclusive design chart that captures that idea nicely.
A chart with three columns representing permanence of a disability (Permanent, Temporary, Situational) and four rows representing categories of disabilities (Touch, See, Hear, Speak). There is a representational labelled graphic of a person for each of the 12 entries, illustrating an example of that disability. It is particular useful in conveying to non-disabled people that they may share a disability temporarily, or even momentarily depending on circumstances. The “touch” category is not as clear as it might be, but the examples show people who might have difficulty using their hands. This was another good one. Got mine as a student from a brilliant second hand book shop in St Andrews, possibly the best purchase ever at £4.50.
The Modelmaker’s Handbook, “An illustrated manual of over 1000 techniques for making all types of models, miniatures and dioramas”, by Albert Jackson and David Day. The cover features an aesthetic arrangement of modelling tools and parts.
