It's somewhat crazy to look back and remember that Vilgax's giant mechadroids only appeared once in the first episode, and then Never seen again in canon until Secret of the Omnitrix, written as one of OS' finales.
They've not even been seen since, Vilgax just forgot them I guess

Still thinking about how my dad would have loved this show.
He grew up when WW2 was still this very recent, interesting thing, with his dad even being in the RAF (whether during or just after the war, idr). So a lot of moments in the show would have hit home for him.
