The Westminster and US two-party system is as dangerous as referendums. You are stuck with the result. Two-party system has no repentance week even if a bad election leads the citizens into the abyss. At least a multi-party system has some built-in inertia on bad politics.

Schuman Declaration 1950 de-militarised the European states to avoid future wars. Trump re-militarised them by demanding the 2% financing. Trump will weaken NATO and eventually split the unity among EU member states. A weak NATO, a weak EU and militarised European states. Back to the pre-WW2 Europe?
