Of course he has blame. But the coach is literally there to ensure everyone is rowing the same way. If Josh is going to far off course it is exactly McDermotts job to reel him or whoever else in. Passivity in key moments was a hallmark.

I think ‘deeply flawed’ team is a bit much. But ok. Best oline, great TE, RB and top Qb. Good defense. They were far better than average and record reflected that.

I can’t even imagine the meltdown if we hired him. It literally would be the one thing that would guarantee to make it all worse. Some people just aren’t Buffalo. He is #1 on that list. Surprised McDemott hasn’t taken any interviews?

Perhaps. Beane has been a full supporter of Coleman throughout. He has never said he didn’t want him. That is the point. All you know is that Beane said he did have others before him. What if, if, you found out he had McConkey before him? What would you say?

That is not what he said. He said Beane had other players ranked higher but he agreed to pick Coleman because the staff had a conviction on him. Beane later said he owned the pick and wouldn’t have picked Coleman if he felt he wouldn’t be effective. Coleman is a grown man who will need to be better.
