Absolutely in love with the texture of this lichen specimen I spotted hiking in Point Reyes. So hairy! Potentially Heterodermia leucomela, I think?
Fingers holding in camera focus a stick that has a slender light gray-green fruticose lichen specimen. The branches of the lichen are covered in sparse but equally spaced dark brown hairlike growths, all the same length. The ends catch the light. There are a couple strands of moss interlaced throughout the lichen.
