Yeah I read about the way protest has been essentially criminalised in the UK now 😓 I really despair at it. And I saw there’s a new way fossil fuel companies are stopping protestors by issuing a kind of mass restraining order, which ties people in expensive court battles w/out even a crime

I think she’s likely referring to the government, rather than the people. As a long-term resident in China I can report that they really don’t like any kind of gathering (online or IRL) that they can’t control. This year dressing up for Halloween was enough to get people dragged off by the police
