I just finished MEDDELING KIDS by Edgar Cantero, @punkahoy.bsky.social, and loved it. The whip-smart blend of humor and horror, brilliant imagery, and creative style was everything I never knew I wanted. The only downside is trying to find something half as good to read next.

If I understand correctly, CATS is a musical about a group of "jellicle" felines that compete in a talent show judged by their elderly matriarch, and the winner receives an all-expense paid trip to death. No one explains what jellicle means, but I'm guessing it's just a cute way of saying suicidal.

Anyone else think Nathan Fillion's Guy Gardner looks like Uncle Fester with hair?

New tip for any writers going through their 1st, 2nd, or 3rd draft: Read it out loud. I suggest even reading it to someone because it makes you more conscious of wording. I can't tell you how many times I stopped midsentence because of how stupid it sounded saying it out loud.

I finally finished the revised draft of my horror-comedy novel. Now it's time to send it off for editing and input. I would say more, but I'm brain dead right now and need a nap.

I am loving The Murderbot Diaries by @marthawells.com. I just keep thinking it would be an incredible mini-series starring Ryan Gosling (because Bladerunner 2049) or Joel Kinnaman (because Robocop reboot).
