I think I agree with this point, but what this ultimately means is that *someone * needs to invest an enormous amount of money into producing, promoting, and marketing original material.

They were songs previously released by other famous artists and achieved more fame as a cover by other artists.
Some cover artists launched entire careers.
That’s how Selena came to fame before releasing her own songs.

You have a point there for some acts. In the example of the Spice Girls. None of them could sing. At all. But they had great stage presence.
But you don’t really have a point with other acts, like Adele. Her shows really don’t have much production. Being a vocalist is the job.

I disagree. It’s because the media apparatus categorized such competitions in the same barrel as Survivor or other reality TV shows, and that carries a stigma that is nearly impossible to overcome in the music industry.

Sometimes the weird shit in the captions makes the jokes even more funny when you get to see in almost real time different translators being confused and asking eachother to understand what the hell these Spanish drag queens are even saying.

My favorite captioning was on Rupaul’s Drag Race España where they had at least 2 Latin American Spanish speakers trying to translate gay Spain Spanish. Somehow the captioners notes got left in the actual captions when they don’t understand a reference.

I wonder if this research can be helpful sort of in reverse, to actually introduce beneficial phages/viruses to our systems (to address things like antibiotic resistance, for example).

If “private security firms” that I have not hired are cold calling me saying I have death threats, they’re just lying and trying to scam you for money.
I could call you and say I need $10000 to protect you from online threats. It’s not true. I just want $10000.

I’m flying back from Colombia right now. Amazing tómales! I bought one from a store because we landed at 2am. Others were much more fresh.
I was going to heat it up and the directions on the package said,
“Dale un baño al tómale.”
My Spanish is not fluent so I had to ask my husband…

This will keep a variety of things to eat. You can open in the freezer and have choices!
