That said, π is still the standard symbol used in textbooks and formulas, so it’s good to understand both:
→ π works well for geometry formulas,
→ τ helps visualize rotations more clearly.
Both make sense — they just show different perspectives!

With π, we always need that extra factor of 2:
- 1/4 turn = π/2
- 1/2 turn = π
- 1 full turn = 2π
So basically, π represents half a turn, while τ represents a whole turn.

What you’re talking about is the constant tau (τ), which equals 2π and represents one full turn (360°).
Using τ actually makes things more intuitive on the unit circle:
- 1/4 turn = τ/4
- 1/2 turn = τ/2
- 1 full turn = τ
