It's so vindictive and petty. It reminds me of the Pulse memorial being erased and having a whole squad of cars "protecting" the scene. The forces of power believe they're immune from consequences, and they're lashing out against even the most symbolic things they find offensive

Either minority rights matter or they don't. If they matter, you should defend them even when (especially when) they're in danger. If they don't, why bother with this condescending "we know what's best for you" approach? Just say you hate them and save us some time

Polling isn't always reliable because the way questions are written can influence the outcome. "The government should deport illegal immigrants" can be popular while "the government should deport people who have lived and worked in the States for 10 years even if they're here illegally" isn't
