My cousin who's a homeowner has her own garden. I wish I lived closer to get produce from her. Walmart Supercenter, (14 mi), has wider produce selection than Costco (1.5 mi) & non-bulk. I shop local Walmart (3.5 miles) for household goods, but they don't carry produce, so I rely on local grocer.

Costco is great if you have 10 kids or operate (convenient) stores. I have Costco card but can't justify shopping there weekly. Local grocery fills that need. My Costco doesn't have a wide selection of produce - small room and similar sized area outside room.

Also, bulk purchase for a single? No.

I don't live in NYC, but raised in and have relatives who calls it home.

Nice to see politician campaign on affordability, focused on groups generally ignored; half the battle. Eager to see policies implemented. Universal childcare, free public transportation & rent freeze is significant.

I don't see her as a permanent selection. Retaining her allows him to hit the ground running and provides more time find the right candidate. Upper echelon of policing only know one way to mitigate crime - more police and jails.

True crime prevention entail after school programs, job training.

Mental illness is a significant issue, nationwide in America, but goes largely untreated. Happy to see it prioritized in largest city in U.S.

Prison as Healthcare or worst, mental health treatment is appalling.

Tackling drug addiction too will have significant impact.

Tough task, but hopeful

Exactly. Running with "defund" slogan during the general campaign would've only given ammo to Cuomo. Talking policy like mental healthcare instead gives context. As the latter is expanded, the former, Policing, will be drastically reshaped. And I'm happy to live in NYC's backyard to witness it.

I disagree a bit because he's promising to add an agency focused on mental health, homelessness and social issues.

I do believe you'll see "defund the police" in action not words, by tackling issues outside policing that should be handled by social workers.

Tisch isn't corrupt. Give her a chance.

I love this for NYC. Full steam ahead. Folks don't realize how crippling transportation is for New Yorkers. Imagine earning $16/hour and paying $6-8 just to get to/from work.

While six figure earners get fare subsidies from their employers via MTA deals

Money is there. Stop prioritizing privilege.

@governor.ny.gov Hochul must win the NYC voters who fueled Mamdani's victory. She should get on board. 2026 election is around the corner. This NYer will be watching closely.
