Audiobook Triple Threat. California Girl raised in Rome. Generally perceived as a smart cookie, but admittedly, I sometimes leave crumbs.
Omg you must be so much fun to work with.

Since when is Audible the law of the land? Audible/Amazon spurns collaborative work that involves a director because it’s cheaper to make the narrator do the work of 3 people. Bottom line? Let’s finance Mr Bezos buying Paris for his next wedding.

The 50 year old book is probably meticulously proof and copy edited. Punctuation, grammar, spelling. I encounter this 24/7. #audiobook publisher ...

Typeface in new paperbacks is *tiny;* especially on out-of-print independently printed books. I work all day on iPads when narrating/directing #audiobooks, but I like the feel of a print book at night. I started buying large print books. Tho, Bleak House large print got a little heavy last year. LOL

Thank you for your support. We appreciate every single #audiobook you listen to; even if it's not one of ours. 😂 Libraries are HUGE supporters of our art, and we are very grateful that they pay us well to spread the "word." @skyboatmedia.bsky.social @stefansecho.bsky.social

Maybe don't shame the narrator. The blame lies with the author/publisher who either miscast someone new or didn't provide support or enough funds for a director/editor. Audible has created a brutal environment for actors, in which they are required to perform 5 jobs for the price of narration only.

Actually, they have no directors or engineers. Most publishers won't pay for them. The price to produce an audiobook has been driven down by Audible. We work with directors & editors. You need a witness to keep you "honest." Working alone as a narrator on a complex #audiobook is asking too much.
