What a great night to celebrate the accomplishments of so many artisan at the Creative Arts Emmys. It was a perfect opportunity to take my gorgeous wife out for a date night. We did not take home any hardware, but we had a wonderful time

Last month, Ronni Brown & I did a film sound workshop for inmates at San Quentin State Prison in their Media Center. We spent 2.5 hours talking about how film soundtracks are made, played film clips & discussed them. Then Ronni did foley for a short film they had written & shot within the prison.

This month marks 25 years for me at Skywalker Sound. Randy Thom hired me as his sound design intern on Cast Away & I’ve worked on 200+ projects since then. Pretty surreal.

I can’t wrap my head around this truly insane post production schedule for Back to the Future. Picture editing, VFX, ADR, sound editing, score, mix, and color correction all done within 2 months?!? That tight of a schedule would be nearly impossible today & without computers? 🤯
