Back when I worked at a newspaper, we had tiers of bad language. Basic swear words were fine if used in a quote. The second-tier words were slightly more offensive and had to be ok'ed by a top editor. The top tier--the f word--had very specific guideline: if the president said it one the record.

Is that just people who registered? I know a number of participants in Des Moines showed up without registering.

This made me laugh so hard. I know exactly what and where you've referenced.

Am I the only one who thinks the Tesla logo looks like an IUD?

He has all the socialist farm bailout money from Trump's last administration. He's always first in line for that, despite being a millionaire.

I'll be at the Des Moines rally.

Wow, Chuck Grassley doing something besides taking up space is, well, unheard of. He's usually a ride-or-die minion of a Republican president.

Joni Ernst wants it so bad. And she's been a good little foot soldier for Trump.

My rep, a Republican, has not once held a town hall. When approached in public places, he tries to run away. Zach Nunn represents only Zach Nunn.

He is my senator. I'm proud of him. Last year, he went off on Republicans who made disgusting remarks about some of his constituents who were visiting the Senate chamber. All I'll say is that a significant portion of his district encompasses minority communities.

His definition of a legal protest is quite broad, though. J6 was a legal protest in his view. I guess illegal would be anything that challenges him.

Hm, I thought representatives and senators represented everyone and town halls were open to all political persuasions.

Fingers crossed that it's the first option.

The Democratic candidate who ran against Grassley last time said rural men are a lost cause. They listen to right-wing media while working the fields. Then they feed off each other's grievances while sitting in diners or hanging around feed stores. He did (does?) believe rural women can be reached.

Iowa is right there in lockstep with Missouri. I don't know what happened to Iowa. I am embarrassed.

His face is just so punchable. His only defining quality is his unbridled pursuit of political power. He has nothing else. True story. In 2016, his mother canvassed for Hillary Clinton. She told a friend of mine that she doesn't like his politics one bit.

My congressman, Zach Nunn, never holds town halls. Ever. He represents a very swing district and he's always been afraid of angry constituents.
