I’m with you, and I’m one of those crazy Americans! I stay far, far away from retail stores this whole week. Although I do go to the greenhouse that offers their poinsettias at 1/2 price. Even that I time my trip to late afternoon, while most are heading home for dinner. I hate “crazy!”

Picture how people in those warm places react to northern temps. At a measly 50 degrees, they dress like we do at below zero temps! Lifeguards at the hotel pools are especially funny. They wear “Gumby” suits: those bright orange waterproof body suits.

My grandmother always had them, too. Along with the “Christmas Mix” of the ones with pictures inside, raspberry filled, and peanut butter filled. She had a sweet tooth for these candies! I learned to love lemon drops from her. Yummy memories, of a woman who reveled in tales of her Flapper days.

Good for you! I start looking for a new doctor when one does this to me! Had one doc team me for being overweight, then later, when asked about Halloween, he said he takes his kids to areas that give lots of loot. Then he can have a lot of candy, too! New Dr. that day!
