Lovely walk along Smardale Gill Nature reserve. Lots of late summer interest, masses of red admiral butterflies. Introduced grandson to the cottage his great grandfather lived in at about the same age as him!

Lovely walk from Stonyholme to Sheepmount - lots of birdsong and actually spotted kingfisher, black cap, reed bunting and willow warbler. Such a treat instead of just hearing them. Never have camera when you need it!
