Nope, not going to Lincoln today 😢. Hopefully a maprun tomorrow morning

I was working harder than I thought on my soggy training run. Can I please request dry weather on Saturday for maprun and next Wednesday!

Rest of the cooking. Cold and flu remedy for freezer. Cranberry and almond cookies. Chicken and cauliflower curry. Potato gratin. The cleaning can wait. I’ve earned a rest

Coleslaw with homemade mayo

A mile easy from car service place to Starbucks. May also run back

With thanks to running coach, that 5k pb attempt is getting closer. Under 10 minute miling is punchy but possible…

Super excited to receive the cutter+ for the thermomix. Now I can slice and grate but also spiralize. First up at the weekend: coleslaw with homemade mayo. Then potato gratin. Will have to think more about spiralising. Never done that before.

In the meantime, soup of the week is butternut squash and coconut 🥥

Shorter than usual but was fun. The students were very disorganised. On way home soon.

The last harvest of the year is spindly spring onions. The veg bed is now clear and I’ll spread the spent compost then fill up with new compost soon

This was a challenge from the very start. They sneakily put another control just before my first one, making me doubt everything. It needs excellent concentration and map reading from the very start. Anyway nice day out and the last one of the season is much closer: Cambridge next Saturday.

Not quite the last harvest of the year: celery and peppers. Most of the veg bed is now empty. There is still chard & spring onions. I hope to spread out the spent compost soon then load it up with the fresh compost that is sitting out front. Tomorrow’s cooking includes blanching and freezing celery.

You are the most appalling dog mum. Why did you make me go out in the rain? I know we met two friends but they have appalling dog parents too. #dogsofbluesky

If angry running is a thing, I think this was a short, angry run.

Khorosan flour bread and coconut, chocolate biscuits. That’s all the cooking except for mashed potato later when I’m ready for dinner

Running coach decided to make it tough this morning - time trial x3 uphill all the way
October 15, 2025 at 9:16 AM
First exercise today with the short resistance bands. I can do the bent over row with any but not the long ones. I think level 4 on the short equates to 2 on the long. Anyway, having both give me options going forward. Really happy with effects from the first week of this plan www.runningability.com

Happy with that. 3.44 miles in 50 minutes. Very foggy in Newark this morning.

I wasn’t last either. So all in all a good day out 😁👍

When the training requires dumbbells and you don’t have any. Built the weight from 3 books to 5 🤣🤣🤣
October 7, 2025 at 6:00 AM
Happy with the O race but I missed the first point. I couldn’t believe it was so close to the start point but straight up a hill. Ely is pretty but busy today with running races also taking place.

A quick trip to Lake Garda followed by pain with a purpose. Trying to loosen calf muscles

Crocuses in autumn? Yes with very special stamen. I may just be lucky. #saffron

There is a lot of faffing around to get to this point. Right, let’s do an indoor bike workout.

5 miles is a long way for me but I got all of the controls - and didn’t come last either 😁😁😁👍👍👍
