He/Him
A bright-minded, kind-hearted, autistic dinosaur enthusiast, Warhammer 40k hobbyist and animal lover with an MSc in Palaeobiology and a lifelong fascination in all things prehistoric.
The new models for this edition are fantastic, including updated sculpts of older ones.
Just a shame they're all so damn expensive.

I also have a particular fondness for monsters.
Here's a few more Nids I've done.

Tyranids are a great army, fairly balanced, with a varied range of bioforms specialized for different roles; from swarms of little bugs, to elite broods, to towering monsters, with a mix of melee and ranged weaponry.
The fact they are so alien also means any colour scheme works on them!

Sounds like fun

Octogon; genetic hybrid soldier, leader of the Sentinels of Earth task force, hero

"There will always be people who see me as nothing more than the monster they made me into. My hope is that, given time and testimony, I'll prove I'm just as human as they are, perhaps even more so."

'Little' might be stretching it for some of the monsters in my collection, but here is at least a preview of some of the best I've done so far.

And more are still to come; Hive Fleet Hecaton is ever evolving new means to overcome its prey.

Such a cool character design!
I'd certainly join her crew.

Allow me to also present two piratey D&D OCs; Captain Dredge (left) and his first mate Grace (right).
Dredge is my OC, while Grace is a campaign NPC he befriended; they're quite a team.
I think they'd both get along with Fives quite well.

The Carnifex is one of the most iconic Tyranid bioforms observed, and the Screamer-Killer variant is perhaps the most infamous.
True to its name, the Banshee King emits a deafening shriek moments before showering victims in a stream of boiling bio-plasma.

Looks awesome! 😄♥️
Always loved Hive Fleet Gorgon's lore and paint scheme.

I recently painted my own Flyrant Lord to replace one of my older Hive Tyrants.
Quite happy with how it turned out and rather eager to use it in some games.

I wonder if they'd get along?
(Probably not, being rival predators)

Replace hate with positivity!
Share a mini you really love or are most proud of!

Absolutely has to be these, I couldn't choose!
I love how well these models turned out, used painting techniques I hadn't done before, and include them in pretty much every game I play.
They've served me well! 😄♥️

The Psychophage, like Hecaton's Superego, have acquired a particularly ravenous appetite for psykers. Once caught in it's monstrous craw, any unfortunate victim is swiftly rendered down to a corrosive ash expelled from the beast's dorsal vents.

Congrats on reaching 2k! ♥️

Behold, my most recent painted mini, the Hive Lord of Hive Fleet Hecaton; Hecaton Imperator.
This monstrosity earned a dreaded reputation as a kingslayer, defeating Dynarth Lysander, a Custodes Shield-Captain and even Marneus Calgar, and has now taken to the skies.

The Tyranids are relentlessly adaptive, ever-evolving new bioforms to overcome whole prey worlds.
In Hive Fleet Hecaton, the Hive Tyrant "Hecaton Imperator" has now achieved aerial supremacy, commanding the vanguard invasion front and preventing escape.

Subject to excruciating gene-modification in a military project, Octogon initially died from the surgery.
However, four dragon spirits bound themselves to him, restoring him and granting incredible elemental power over fire, lightning, ice and psychic.

Allow me to introduce my lifelong OC/fursona, Octogon.
A human-reptile genetic hybrid, the result of a supersoldier bioweapons programme, now hero and leader of the Sentinels of Earth defence force.

Been a little busy prepping for my second attempt at DM'ing D&D last weekend, so not been able to do much painting of models or posting sketches and facts about my OCs as I had intended.
But I think this a good chance to post a little about myself.
So let's give this a go! 😄

The Norns are the epitome of Tyranid evolution.
The psychic Norn Emissary, Hecaton Magister, exhibits supernatural cunning in seeking priority objectives.
The Norn Assimilator, Hecaton Eversor, is a voracious hunter of champions that surges into combat with murderous fury.

Though rarely witnessed on the battlefield, the Dimachaeron is no less deadly.
True to its name, the Reaper scythes through footsoldiers like wheat, and a distensible spike hooks prey into its maw-like chest, slowly draining its bodily fluids while still alive and screaming.

The first stage of an Tyranid invasion sees the skies darkened with spores and numerous winged organisms, big and small.
The Hive Crone is an exceptional airborne pursuit predator, and Skyshark actively hounds rival flying units and aircraft in battles for aerial supremacy.

No Tyranid bioform is more a living embodiment of their insatiable hunger than the Haruspex.
Virtually a mouth and stomach on legs, the jaws of Hecaton's Id are wide enough to swallow whole prey as large as itself, and an elongated tongue snatches away the choicest prey.

The Tyranids' myriad methods of warfare are terrifyingly varied.
The Mawloc, Fyrewyrm, excels in underground assaults, erupting directly beneath enemy strongholds.
The Toxicrene, Noxious Death, engulfs armies in clouds of choking digestive spores and lethal toxic tentacles.

To help deal with heavy artillery, the Tyranids have evolved their own siege beasts.
The Exocrine, Fell Salvo, bombards enemies with searing bio-plasma.
The Tyrannofex, Earthshaker, favours raw firepower with the Rupture Cannon, able to punch holes in Imperial Titans.

The Wrecker Brood are nigh unstoppable siege beasts and tank-killers, tearing flesh, armour and ferrocrete asunder. However, they are fiercely territorial and regularly fight each other.
Only the authoritative presence of their alpha, Hecaton's Champion, keeps them in line.

These are known as the Tyrant Tetrad.
The Hive Lord, Hecaton Imperator; a mighty kingslayer.
The Hive Tyrant, Hecaton Venator; the ultimate hunter.
The Hive Fleet's Swarmlord, Hecaton Bellator; a consummate commander.
And the Neurotyrant, Hecaton Umbra; nightmare incarnate.

The Von Ryan's Leapers, known as Night Terrors, rove ahead of the swarm in vicious swift ambushes.
The Lictor 'Phantom' has a reputation for it's aptitude in assassination, while the Neurolictor 'Bodach' instills dread amongst the enemy with its potent synaptic abilities.

The Imperator Phalanx forms a living wall of chitin to protect their Tyrant entourage, while the Sentinels offer long-range artillery with uncanny accuracy.
Meanwhile, the Doomseers annihilate targets with lances of psychic energy, rending flesh and steel alike with ease.
