I figured you were referring to "meteorological Spring" which begins March 1st. It's only 24 days away so not far off 18 :)

I noticed that too - several good chances at big snowfall events. February seems to be the goldilocks month in terms of snowfall along the Atlantic coast. I guess the tracks tend to be juuuuust right... It will be interesting to see what @yhzweatherguy.bsky.social 's Feb snowfall stats look like...

I've always remembered that rule of thumb but understood it was for systems paralleling our coastline. The track of this system has a more northerly bearing which, as an amateur, would lead me to believe there will be a sharper east-west snowfall gradient with HRM on the cusp. Time will tell!
