The real 1A issue is that a trans grad student was targeted by the state for punishment while a network of malignant political operatives who helped it happen celebrate.

None of the people picking apart the assignment want to engage with that, for probably bad reasons. It’s frustrating.

I think it's ultimately a reaction to ACFC picking up Prisca Chilufya just a month or two ago, who has been subjected to discriminatory genetic testing and barred from the 2020 Olympics due to her testosterone levels (some people have reported that she is intersex but idk the validity of that claim)

Additionally, loved the captain's response to her post. So glad that they explicitly pointed out the racism and transphobia of it all. And so upset for Barbra Banda, who will go down as one of the best women's players of all time and is routinely subjected to this BS

As an OG fan of Angel City FC, where Eddy was signed to, I completely forgot she existed until this op-ed. Very few playing minutes, and rarely on the bench to sub in... trans women were not the reason she wasn't playing (its because she's bad)... so many of the anti-trans athletes are like this
