That’s the part of history Republicans ignore. They try to take credit for freeing the slaves because Lincoln was a Republican. But, the racist Dixiecrats became Republicans in the 50’s and 60’s over integration. Dixiecrats hated integration. That’s why the South is a Republican stronghold today.
