Note the source is US government documents, not the Venezuelan originals.
Exclusive: Documents show Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro drafted a letter asking Russia for missiles, radars and upgraded aircrafts as U.S. forces amass in the Caribbean.

I can't get enough of this podcast. I've listened to certain episodes sometimes half a dozen times in recent months. This latest set on the Mughal Empire is particularly fascinating.
After his victories at Panipat & Kanua, Babur sunk into depression. He hated the heat & hated the rains: “During the monsoon, bows cannot be used to shoot,” he moaned. “Armour, books & bedding are also affected.” He hated the abstinence to which he was condemned by his vow to abjure alcohol.

We live in hyperbolic times indeed.

Here's a paper about hyperbolic times, fresh off the press, published just yesterday.

I love this podcast from @willdalrymple.bsky.social and @anitaanand.bsky.social.

Its very first episodes explained the British in India, and so my own family's history.

And now I'm understanding the context of what I saw in Kabul a few years back when visiting Babur Gardens.
New series alert!!

🕌 💫THE GREAT MUGHALS 💫🕌

From poetry to religion and from architecture to astrology, the Mughal Empire left lasting impacts on India. But who were the emperors who shaped it?

Today's episode looks at the early life of the first Great Mughal: Babur

I've gone deep into the theory and application of LLMs over the last couple of years as an AI startup CTO, and also in taking graduate-level NLP courses.

But even knowing what's behind it all doesn't take away from the magic and beauty of what they can do.
