That's pretty quick. I still take care at the bottom of stairs in the dark in case there's a dog lying there, and I haven't had the dog that liked to lie at the bottom of the stairs at night since 2002.

#EarlyModern meme! #BookHistory
The bottom of a page of printed text, showing three hands (or printers' fists) pointing at each other. The spiderman meme: three spidermen pointing at each other.

I've been trying not to say anything because they've been through a lot and all that, but it really does.

*blink blink blink* I've been following the busway since near its start and had somehow never stopped to wonder if that was the case. Wow.

URGH. Very sorry to hear that. Well done you for doing it.

Saw someone (not a mutual) posting that fig newtons are a lot of work, and I had to refrain from replying "actually, fig newtons are a lot of force; if they're a lot of work, then they're fig joules"

Thank you for being there.

Cake in the oven. Thanks for the reminder!

At some point soon I'm probably going to succumb to a jar of Fancy Cherries (tm) to put in the Manhattans I'm developing a taste for.

Oh no! Not three cherries. Woe, etc. It's Vielle Ferme (with the chickens on) red here, a thank-you gift from a church I gave a recital in earlier this week.

It was #InternationalTranslationDay yesterday, slightly late but we couldn't resist showing off one of the most significant books in the @rcphysicians.bsky.social Heritage Library to celebrate!

'Recuyell of the historyes of Troye', translated & printed by William Caxton, published in Bruges, 1473.

This music video, directed by Kevin McGloughlin for Max Cooper’s song Repetition, features remixed fractal-like forms from the constructed world (roads, skyscrapers, wind turbines, etc.) interspersed with scenes from nature. Totally mesmerizing. [kottke.org]

Yeah, absolutely someone might want these. At the very least, a charity shop that stocks crafty things, but if you know fabric type people they'll find a home for it.
