Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it. And if you don't have comfort in that it is largely a heterosexual thing celebrating the birth of a child born to a asexual, brought up by not his dad who got nailed to a tree. A celebration of capitalism and inequality.

Not all over then? Some leaders of parties who said it was "common sense" may now have to eat their words? And organisations that have with "heavy hearts" excluded trans will later also have to u-turn. I will be voting and spending with my feet as always www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I have one of those days when i have spent too long talking about the difference between machine learning ,LLM, Generative AI, AI and neural networks. In a context of Magic Notes and Co-pilot,structured and unstructured data and predictive modelling.

We have a work rule that nothing is deployed on a Thursday as quite a few people dont work on a friday so things are harder to fix. Yesterday the rule was broken and i have had to fix a bug in something that i have never seen before. Me and the manager being the 2 senior people being in today.

That awkward moment on a teams start up when most people can see your new winter otter icon and your line manager says i've still got the wolf!

Why do some companies believe that testing software is optional. The same system was telling me that 2 topics "needed more work" but one was in meets requirements section and the other in exceeds requirements section. BTW this is from a software company that trains people how to test software!

Today i have been mostly using machine learning to do apprenticeship things ! Which has nothing to do with AI! I've been using data collected with permission to create a mathematical model to see if my employer is keeping more/less people happy and to predict what is going to happen in the future.

So the 2 4K dispalys arrived and seem very good for the money but i've hit a snag! They were supposed to be 2 hdmi and i vga input. But they are 2 hdmi and 1 display port. I'm not terribly surprised. But finding an VGA input to Display port output is a bit tricky!

Today's rush job is someone has decided the order that a project would be delivered is in a different order to originally planned. Problem is it uses the same pages and because its low code version control isnt a thing! So i'm reverting 3 months of stuff in a day and it didn't go very well!
