I don't understand why California is being neglected - there was a huge demonstration in San Francisco and even in Walnut Creek in the East Bay where I demonstrated, there were more than 10,000 people. Here is the sign I carried:

MSM should also show what happened yesterday in smaller cities. We were 10,000 strong in Walnut Creek, CA - a lot of gray hair but more younger people than in previous demonstrations. Here is the sign I carried:

I'll be attending a local demonstration with the same sign I carried in the March demonstration in Sacramento, CA:

Here is how George Carlin put it:

I have just opened a new account in this thread as I continue my 5-year-long quest of promoting my late son, Gerald Huff's advocacy for Universal Basic Income. The non-profit I run is engaged in a nation-wide campaign challenging the myth that we live in a meritocracy:

It's not the same. There is a positive, visionary message that the left can promulgate:

So many things to protest but at the core of our nightmare is the rigged economy, the myth that the oligarchs have perpetuate that the American Dream is real and that you, too, can achieve it. BS:
April 19, 2025 at 3:45 PM
For the longest time, the elites have propaganted that we live in a meritocracy and if you work hard blah, blah, blah. That's a lie and never more so than now:
April 19, 2025 at 3:40 PM
The American Dream is so far from reality for so many people in our country that to believe in it is to be complicit in the rising power of the ultrarich and multinational corporations. Reject the myth. Ask for an economy that would make the Dream possible.

"Just work harder and you can be rich like us!" It's lie that distracts us from the truth: there aren't enough hours in the day for us to build the wealth necessary for our money to grow exponentially. That's what it takes to get rich in the U.S. And it's not possible for almost ALL OF US.

This is what Sen. Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are telling us in their rallies.

I live in a retirement community where the average age is 78. We are showing up at all the local demonstrations like the one last Saturday in Walnut Creek which drew more than 5,000 people. We have organized car pools, made signs and here I am in the March 50501 Sacramento event:

They lacked empathy, the recognition that all people count because no one chooses to be born, or where, or to whom.
April 10, 2025 at 3:21 PM
Isn't time we all recognize that this cannot go on? We do not live in a meritacrocy, that's just a myth that's been perpetuated for us to ignore this obscene statistic.

Here I am at the March demonstration in Sacramento, CA:

No one choose to be born or when or where so everybody counts.
March 30, 2025 at 6:22 PM
That's built on the myth that we are a meritocracy and anyone can become a millionaire/billionaire. That's a crock.
March 27, 2025 at 4:11 PM
With the plethora of billionaires who are now running everything, here is short video that disabuses our fellow American of the idea that those people deserve their positions and that we live in a meritocracy so that you can get there, too:

We’ve been told the lie - that each person’s financial success and power position is from their intelligence, skills, and work ethic. This allows us to blame people living in poverty for their situation, rather than the economic system itself. Time to break the #MeritocracyFallacy.
