I took it slow in the TMoS department that I ended up locking in when writing for a short visual novel I suddenly wanted to do.

I will lock in for The Mage of Silence next week! Things just got a lil' too funky.

This has been a PR nightmare on Adobe's end, on god

So yeah, glad some users of Animate are still able to use the software. I may be one of the many haters of Adobe but I can understand the frustration of learning a new software.

But holy shit, has this been a wild couple of days-

Me @ myself talking about myself: "THAT WAS HER MISTAKE"

Not all hope is lost tho, I can share some of my smaller animations there in the meantime. Here's hoping the file size requirement increases on of these days.

I'll still participate in events like Indie Animation Day since by technicalities, a lot of my works counts as indie animation.

I just wanted to bring in my two cents on this phenomena.

So yeah, this has been my ted talk. ^^;

But back on main point, the raising standards for indie animation makes me feel awkward about using that label for my own works as well.

Maybe I'll adopt using as like homemade anime/cartoon/animation, lool

And if we really wanted to be fancy, we either had to save up to buy the software ourselves or resort to piracy for software like Sony Vegas (the most common software back in my day)!

And hell, I'm sure there are other hobbyiest communities that have a similar workflow to fanime.

Hell, back during the early years of the fanime community, due to the fact that Flash was expensive, people were making their own series via MS Paint and Windows Movie Maker. Literally, to this very day, we in the fanime community all have been making our own series with *zero budget given to us*!

I think what is also depressing about this is I recall a video in my recommended; it's of this kid who wants to make their own indie series but they feel that they need their own studio.

I'm like thinking to myself "Kid... you can just make your own series without needing a whole studio. 😭"

Like straight up: if the standards for indie animation keeps getting higher, I may snap and would be using the term "Doujin Anime/Doujin Animation".

Now, just to be clear: I know why I probably *shouldn't* so something like "Homemade Cartoon/Anime/Animation" might be a better alternative. >>;;;

This kinda remind me of a post I saw on this site that is in relation to indie games that is like "Yo, let these studios keep the word 'Indie', let's make use the term "doujin" games again!"

And while I know OP of that was partially joking, I cannot help but empathize with it. ^^;

"Gissy, why tf were you trying to export an animation with an even smaller canvas size????"

Because a lot of old school fanime were in that canvas size and want to make a modern day equivalent who inserting gifs into Windows Movie Maker pre-Windows Live
