🎉 Very happy to share that our paper with Judit Ralbovszki got accepted at the Journal of Peace Research!

Most research focuses on the effect of terrorism on majority attitudes, but what about the minorities who often become targets of backlash?
Abstract of effect of terrorism on religious minorities' perceived discrimination, Journal of Peace Research

And why is this important? Because most research assumes minority groups respond uniformly to discrimination, but our findings reveal that education and integration create vastly different coping strategies within the same community!
gizemarikan.bsky.social
This is consistent with a dissociation-detachment mechanism, where more integrated members of a stigmatized group distance themselves from the in-group to buffer against the negative psychological impacts of discrimination.

Using data from the German Socio-Economic Panel we find nuanced effects of terrorism on Muslims in Germany: More educated and more integrated respondents are less likely to feel discriminated against after attacks, compared to those with lower levels of education or integration.

We cannot allow this to stand anymore! We have prepared a petition calling for a boycott of the next ISPP 2026 conference in Newcastle, UK, unless the Executive Committee resigns or responds to our concerns. Please read and sign the petition here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

Our new IMR paper on the great replacement theory is now open-access. We find that about 20% (!) of German adults believe that white majorities are being deliberately replaced by non-white immigrants in a secretive attempt by malevolent elites to undermine their own country.
