I vaguely remember there was a Daoist cult of conserving jing as well (something about giant foreheads?)

I was just trying to explain the reference. I’ve made it a long practice not to make sweeping statements about the effectiveness of TCM (or alternative/complimentary in general), especially if it’s not displacing essential and effective conventional treatments

I think the reference is to Lianhua Qingwen which was distributed by the HK government in free anti-COVID kits and which contained ephedra www.info.gov.hk/gia/general/...

Probably is both. But it also struck me as an alternative to blaming destabilizing economic policies.

Seems to be a rooftop. Not going to take a position on illegal, but questions are sure to be asked, possibly by whoever owns the car on which the ceiling landed

Three pages later: “A common and natural result of an undue respect for law is that you may see a file of soldiers….They have no doubt that it is a damnable business….Are they men at all? Or small moveable forts and powder kegs in service of some unscrupulous man in power?”

Surely you just need to get the R2D2 set and it will give you the plans?

The moment I saw this picture, I zoomed in on the collar pulling away from his neck and remembered your posts on the other site about how bespoke suit collars lie flat

I did say grudging! I’d advocate for an unwritten exception for reusable water bottles (but honestly might have given you the stink eye anyway)

There does seem to be a class of workers whose job remains safe from charges of alcohol impairment. The cooked food centers at lunchtime are a particular hotspot. Used to
include nicer restaurants in Central but time got called many years ago on lunch-drunk insurance brokers and lawyers.

I was thinking of aversion to public confrontation. If people sip cups of milk tea or bottled soft drinks people mainly let it go. If it’s smelly like McDonald’s, perhaps. FWIW I’m old enough to recall threats of fines for MTR ticket-flicking and never seen anyone get a conduct violation.

They had a shop up LCK road about 150m and then moved into three different stores. I get different prices from different people. Kids section is wild. But if you are searching for something in particular (other than something like a dictionary or a copy of Shakespeare) it’s hard to find anything.

Never had their 豆腐花 but their savoury snacks are great. Cook-at-home stuff - tofu, tofu puffs, sprouts - also top quality. Good to see them recognized.

Not if you use a coin tumbler like Tornado Cash. Which was just delisted from OFAC (following the 5th circuit saying coins in the money laundering service weren’t property) finance.yahoo.com/news/why-ofa...

Yeah I think that’s right, although I thought in most places you still need (and are a fool to forego) local counsel by your side. But think of it from the point of view of someone outcome-oriented and rule-dodging, and you end up demanding a clause about indirect pro bono work.
