That being said, it's still a really good show and it feels like the overall narrative is written in a way that makes it a lot easier to not end up doing the Marvel thing of having awkward dialogue that exists purely to catch up viewers on media they didn't watch

I think Reeves said in an interview that the Penguin is only going to have a brief appearance in the sequel so I don't think the show will be necessary viewing material despite all the marketing calling it "the next chapter".

Idk though maybe it's just me but I'd rather think about a laughably bad story than a boring one, since the former can actually inspire some creativity which TFS only made me do with crow's final monologue right at the end
