Been watching a lot of the original Miami Vice as research for a project, and the apartment sets they use are often absolutely spectacular visually.

Amazing, and now a quick Google suggests he actually designed a lot of lamps! There is absolutely no way a film recorded hand-held on DV tape in 2005 should work still in the year 2025, but it's the mix of gonzo film-making and insane attention to detail (like this) that fascinated me.

Just got done watching Inland Empire. Is it weird that the main thing I came away with was that I like David Lynch's taste in lamps?
